Travelling to the Island
Visitors to the island have a choice of travel. Hourly crossings of car and passenger ferries from Southampton (to East Cowes), Portsmouth (to Fishbourne) or Lymington (to Yarmouth) make travelling to the island easy. Good rail and train links go directly to the ferry terminals.
There is also Fast Cat, (a fast passenger craft operating out of Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier) and the Hovercraft (operating from Southsea seafront to Ryde seafront). If any of our guests need collection from the ferry ports or passenger terminal we would be happy to do so. The travelling time is approximately 50 minutes for the Car Ferries and 15-20 minutes for a fast passenger service. We must emphasise that pre-booking of these ferries is paramount – especially in the summer!
